Pai Skincare: a garage in Ealing to Clarins

Fifteen years, 65 people, our own factory, sold direct in five regions.

Sarah started Pai in 2007 with £15,000 of savings, no beauty background and chronic urticaria that had arrived in a single night and turned her life upside down. It gave her a clear view of how badly people with sensitive skin were served, and a product brief nobody else had.

Fifteen years of profitable growth later, Pai had 65 people, a factory in west London, and large operations in USA and France. Stockists included Sephora, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Credo and Detox Market.

We sold Pai to Clarins in 2023, stayed on the board, and set up Imaginists the same year.
